FIRECAT / New Holland Renew annual Development Agreement
Rick W. White, President/CEO, FAV, Inc., announces the annual renewal of the FAV, Inc. (FIRECAT)/New Holland agreement for the continuing development of the FIRECAT Fire Attack Vehicles.
New Holland agrees to continue supplying FAV, Inc. (FIRECAT) with Bi-Directional tractor platforms, support engineering and materials support.
Rick White and Dr. Charles Eminhizer, FAV Director of Fire Science, deliver annual report to Willis R. Campbell, Design Consultant to FIRECAT for New Holland Corporate Offices.
Mr. White reports testing and demonstration of the Second Generation FIRECAT TV-140 are on schedule and full deployment is expected with the onset of the 2001 fire season. It is expected that deployment will be in the Western United States, however, wildfires may occur in any geographical region without notice.
Although the first prototype FIRECAT Extra Duty model was far more effective in suppressing wildfire during "on the fire line" deployment than initially projected, Mr. White reports that the Second Generation TV-140 is considerably faster and more maneuverable in all environments and terrain than the original prototype. The transfer of technology from the original FIRECAT Extra Duty model to the enhanced TV-140 was easily accomplished.
